Our friend 0700700, directly from Sofia, updates us with the latest Bulgarian offers for prepaid customers. Both Mtel and Globul started the price war against the newcome Vivatel. Both operators offer discounts and monthly bonuses for new prepaid kits, and new tariffs with lower national rates per minute.

New international card: 09 Mobile

09 Mobile

Our friend Andy noticed it first and talked about it on our forum. The new offer looks very similar to Riiing, but with different zones and with a different country code: not Liechtenstein anymore, but Iceland, home network is Siminn.

The rates are very similar (often slightly higher) to Riiing and there is plenty of "free roaming" countries, while Siminn seems to have more roaming agreements than FL1, expecially in the Pacific and America. So if you are looking for more roaming countries but still with many free incoming ones this could be a very interesting solution.

You can buy it directly on the Official Site or at Orate.

More information on our International Cards pages.

Vivatel prepaid offer, Bulgaria

Vivatel

The 3rd Bulgarian operator has officially started its services with a prepaid offer with flat rate tariff for all national calls, a little cheaper compared to the 2 competitors. SMS, MMS and GPRS/EDGE services are all available. International roaming is available in Turkey and Serbia only.
There's a startup promotion for all Vivatel prepaid customers: all the credit you spend from now to the 6th of January 2006 will be credited back on the 7th of January 2006.
Vivatel has also some of the cheapest international calls from Bulgaria.

New tariffs for Simyo and Blau, in Germany

German MVNO SIMyo is going to lower its voice and SMS rates from November 16. The new tariffs are € 0.16/min for all national calls and € 0.11 for all national SMS. The previous one were € 0.19/0.14.

Following SIMyo, also Blau.de lowered its tariffs, but it's not a real new, lower, tariff by now. You keep on paying € 0.19/0.14 for voice calls/sms, but you get € 0.03 of bonus for every minute/SMS. That goes to a "special bonus credit" which becomes "normal credit" in two ways:
- automatically, when it reaches € 5.00
- when you recharge your account

Elisa and Tele2, Estonia

Some updates from Estonia. Both Elisa and Tele2 lowered the national rates for their prepaid offers Zen (Elisa), Smart and Ultra (Tele2). Daytime rates are now much cheaper compared to EMT, while on night time rates all the 3 operators are quite similar.

Added GPRS connection for Tele2 prepaid cards too, for both Ultra and Smart. MMS are available as well with different rates for Smart and Ultra.

You can find all the information at our Estonia page.

Amigo, Latvia

Added some more info about Amigo prepaid card in Latvia.
The only Latvian MVNO now offers GPRS data connection at around € 1 per MB (but they talk about Megabits on their site, instead of Megabytes, hope they correct!), which is quite a decent rate.
MMS are available as well at LVL 0.05 plus the GPRS data transfered, which can become quite expensive for bigger MMS. You pay incoming MMS too, only the GPRS data.
